Brow Lamination

What is Brow Lamination?

Brow Lamination works to redirect and set your brow hairs to your desired shape so that you get the most fullness out of your natural growth.

Depending on your brow concerns, the process which is similar to when you perm hair, can give dramatic results in a non-invasive way. Unruly, coarse brows can be straightened and smoothed, thinning brows can be lifted to appear thicker and gaps can be hidden. The results mean a new brow shape can be completely manipulated.

Firstly a brow adhesive is used to secure the brow hairs in an upward direction. This is followed by a softening lotion to relax the hair cuticle and the brow hairs are shaped to your desired style. A fixing lotion then follows to structure the hairs and set them into the new position. Lastly, a nurturing serum is combed through the brows, to help hydrate and condition the brow hairs.

The aftercare is also simple; keep brows dry for the first 24 hours. Avoid steam baths, saunas and any further treatments. After this time, groom your brows with a tamer brush. The treatment lasts for 6-8 weeks depending on your hair cycle and will leave you waking up with brows already primed and ready for day and with one less thing to worry about in the morning.

PLEASE NOTE: A patch test is required at least 48 hours prior to brow lamination treatment.

Indications for Brow Lamination

This is the perfect treatment for anyone whose brow hairs are irregular in direction, who has any gaps in between said hairs, or who wants that groomed, brushed-up look.

Most notably, it’s a great alternative to microblading, which can be painful, and works on the skin rather than the hairs. Instead, lamination helps to add colour and definition to brows without any after-effects that take time to heal.

The Treatment

During this treatment, you lie back and let us do the hard work. Lamination involves two different treatment solutions that do for our brows what a lash lift does for our lashes

The first is brushed through the eyebrow hairs and left on for 20 minutes, to make them softer and more malleable. Next, the brows are brushed into the desired position and a “laminating” solution is applied, to keep the strands in place. Brows are then shaped by threading or tweezing. Tint can be added on to this treatment also.

After the treatment

If your brows or lashes look too dark, don’t worry – it will fade.

It’s important the colour is a little darker to begin with so the tint lasts. The initial darkness will only last a few days and will get a little closer to the right colour every time you cleanse your face. Avoid getting lashes or brows wet for 12 hours after having them tinted. Cleanse around the areas with a gentle product instead. Giving the dye longer to settle is a proven way to make them last longer. Oil strips the tint, so check your cleanser and eye makeup remover isn’t oil-based to save time and money in the long run. Results last up to 8 weeks, with the only maintenance needed is to brush the brows upwards daily.
