What is Threadlift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive, rejuvenating treatment that uses specialised surgical threads to lift sagging skin, giving a tighter, more youthful appearance.
Indications for Threadlift
Thread Lifts are recommended for people who are looking to combat signs of ageing caused by reduced collagen production. A Thread Lift is a great alternative to surgery and gives long lasting results, from 12 to 18 months, and can be combined with anti-ageing injections too.
Thread Lifts aren’t suitable for everyone, including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding or suffer from anti-coagulation or auto-immune conditions.
This treatment can help with a variety of conditions including:
Hollow cheeks – loss of volume from our cheeks is very ageing but a Thread Lift can trigger collagen production which fills the hollow.
Jowls – as we age and gravity takes its toll, jowls can form around the jawline and can create the effect of excess skin.
Sagging cheeks – the mild to moderate sagging of cheeks is caused by the ageing process but can be rectified by Thread lift treatment.
Deep wrinkles – folds and lines around the nose and chin are caused by fat pads in our face slipping due to age.
Sagging skin above the knees – the mild to moderate sagging of skin in this area is caused by the ageing process but can be rectified by Thread lift treatment.

What Is The Procedure For Threadlift?
The Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure. After numbing with an infusion of local anaesthesia, the threads are inserted via blunt tip needles (called cannulas) into different layers of the skin. Once inserted, the threads anchor the skin and lift it upwards. The excess threads are then cut off.
Depending on the areas treated, the procedure takes 15- 45 minutes.
There is some discomfort during the procedure.
The threads used will be determined during the consultation, depending on the area to be treated amongst other factors.
What Happens After A Threadlift Treatment?
The skin is immediately lifted after a Thread lifting procedure, as the threads provide support to lift skin into its new position, looking slightly tighter than the final result, but in about one week it will begin to look much more natural.
Depending on the types of threads used and areas treated, bruising may or may not occur.
Expect some mild swelling and soreness for 3 to 5 days after the procedure, and a sensation of mild tightness for up to 2 weeks. Temporary mild dimpling of the skin can also occur, and resolves in a few days.
The rejuvenating effects kick in after 1-2 months showing a better skin texture, firmer and smoother skin.
In about 9 months after the treatment the threads will have dissolved, but the results will still continue for many more months.
