What is Vitamin D LED Therapy?
Vitamin D is an indispensable part of great skin, but getting the right amount can be a little tricky.
Vitamin D helps skin to repair itself and encourages cell growth, helping us to maintain healthy and youthful looking skin. However, it is the way that our bodies produce vitamin D that can be problematic.
Our bodies produce vitamin D naturally as it is a vital substance that is critical for a wide range of the body’s functions. In terms of our skin, vitamin D is essential for repair, mobilising the immune system and helping to destroy free radicals that lead to premature ageing.
We produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight as the UV rays trigger the production of this essential substance.
However, UV rays can also cause significant damage if we receive too much of them, causing sunburn, age spots, wrinkles and even skin cancer, so it’s a real balancing act to ensure we get enough without harming our skin.
There are also several foods that contain high levels of vitamin D, including oily fish, beef liver and dairy products.
Many people in the UK are producing far less vitamin D than they would say thirty years ago. This is partly due to us being far more aware of the damage that UV rays can cause to our skin and also because we lead slightly more sedentary lifestyles where we spend much more time indoors.
Although protecting against UV rays is important, we should still aim for 30 minutes sun exposure per day which is pretty difficult considering the temperamental British weather. Therefore, many people aren’t receiving the adequate levels of vitamin D that our skin needs to repair itself and keep us looking youthful.
Luckily for us, there is a way of providing our skin with the vitamin D it needs without causing damage or scoffing ridiculous amounts of oily fish.
There really is no better way than providing our skin with the vitamin D it needs than natural sunlight, and although many of us are wary of subjecting our skin to potentially harmful rays there are ways of having it all our own way.
Just fifteen minutes of exposure to sunlight a day is enough to give our skin the change to produce the levels of vitamin D it requires, but this soon mounts up over the week.
To fight back against the damaging affects of UV rays, the Lumineo device combines five different technologies in one treatment session to brighten, tighten and improve the overall quality of the skin.
It also works to regenerate collagen, leaving you with plump, refreshed and perfectly smooth skin and fights back against fine lines that can be caused by sun damage.
Another feature is the function to reduce inflammation and even skin tone, ideal if you want to enjoy the sun without your skin paying the price.
So if you want to protect your skin from damaging UV ray and still provide your skin with the vitamin D it needs, then the Lumineo offers the perfect solution.
